Al Garrett (Alfred Tennyson Garrett) was born on April 17, 1893 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Peddie School (Highstown, NJ), Garrett attended Rutgers State University of New Jersey. Garrett made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Akron Pros. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Akron Pros the entire time. Garrett also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Milwaukee Badgers the entire time.
