Al Beals (Alyn R. Beals) was born on April 27, 1921 in Marysville, California. After going to high school at Polytechnic (San Francisco, CA), Beals attended Santa Clara University. Beals made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1946 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played in the AAFC for 4 years, playing for the San Francisco 49ers the entire time. Beals also played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the San Francisco 49ers the entire time.

Most people believe that 1948 was Al Beals's best year, as he hauled in 46 receptions, had 591 receiving yards and caught 14 TD passes.
