A few things went down this week…

First off, the mighty awesomeness that is Arizona Wildcat Softball, won their second straight National Championship. It was an amazing come-back for a series that could have ended in a close Game 2 against Tennessee. We would like to send out congratulations to our fellow cats!

Now we move on to Mark Reynolds. He has been the man of the month/year for the Dbacks so far, but how much longer can the guy keep it up? RotoRob tries to tackle that question: > > Reynolds, as I wrote in the last Wire Troll column, is a great short-term pickup. I think he’s making a great statement to stick around once Tracy returns, but as far how much PT he’ll get, it will be limited. Still, he’s certainly put himself on the map.
Unfortunately for Dbacks fans, I would have to agree here. Reynold’s average has dipped from a hot .442 to .356 in the last week alone. With any Rookie coming into the league, opposing pitching will eventually catch up to em’. His energy on the field though, is something else.

This week can’t go down without a mention of Matt Leinart and Anquan Boldin heading to Chase field to hit bombs during batting practice. Rumor has it, Leinart went yard a few times. > > Matt Leinart, a pitcher in his youth who chose to give up baseball after hurting his arm, hit the only two home runs in the group, earning him a dinner from a bet with Boldin about who would hit more out.
The question for me here. Is how come I cannot find a picture of them hitting in BP. This made the news all over the place. The media was there? Weren’t they? What the hell…

And then lastly, the news of the day at the very least….is former Arizona State football star Loren Wade, was found guilty of second-degree murder for shooting former ASU football player Brandon Falkner: > > “I’m really shocked at the verdict, I was hoping to get first,” said Brandon’s brother, Jelani Falkner. > > The jury is now reconvening to discuss aggravating factors, which could lead to a harsher prison sentence.
Looks like Wade gets a break here. He was seen loading and shooting the gun. How did he not get 1st degree?
Well thats it for Arizona sports for the week. To keep in line with the best commentary in Arizona sports, subscribe to our daily email updates.

Which may very well be true, BUT why is the gun loaded to begin with?
Dumb.
