A Pujols HGH Link?

7
Vote

That's what Deadspin is reporting. Apparently, the trainer named (but redacted) in the Jason Grimsley affidavit has been in the Albert Pujols camp for a long, long time.

Ruh-roh.

(Oh, Sammy Sosa was also linked up. Shocker!)

"...since before Pujols was drafted by the Cardinals in the 13th round of the 1999 draft." Sort of would make sense then.

While it bothers me that they do it (hgh, speed, etc), it bothers me more when they outright deny it in a Palmiero-esque fashion. Recent quotes from pujols: "You're not going to find anything out about me,". "They can test me every day if they want. I don't care." "Like I said. I don't have to hide anything because I haven't done anything wrong." I really hope for his sake he is telling the truth.

I hope this report is wrong. I have always respected Pujols. For this to be true would mean I would have no respect left for the man. It will be just like McGuire.

I AM 100% SURE ALBERT ISNT'T USING STEROIDS........WHY ARE PEOPLE BECOMING SUCH HATERS ON GOOD PLAYERS?, LIKE PUJOLS AND SAMMY SOSA. PROBLEY BEC THEY ARE LATINS. THEY TRY WATEVER IT TAKES TO INVESTIGATE BUT DONT FIND ANY EVIDENCE. SOSA WAS TESTED N HE WAS INNOCENT. ONE THING I KNOW IS THAT DOMINICAN PLAYERS HAS ALOT OF TALENT FOR THE GAME OF BASEBALL. I WOUNDER WHO NAME WILL THAN BROUGHT OUT,,,,MAYBE SARIANO,JOSE REYES,PERDO MARTINEZ, BARTOLO COLON,DAVID ORTIZ AND MANNY RAMIREZ,,,,,,SORRY THEY WILL NEVER BE GUILTY.

There is no way MLB wants Pujols to get busted. It would have an extremely adverse effect on the game (more so than bonds). Makes you wonder about the whole bond's thing, when he said he wanted albert to break the record. The difference is, Pujols is a nice guy, he's very friendly and charitable (I remember an ESPN special about his daughter w/ Down syndrome, very touching). To be honest though, if you were pujols and someone kept asking if you cheated, wouldn't you say the same thing. go ahead and test me, do anything, i'll do anything you want to prove i'm really just this good.

YEA I AGREE, WHY DO PEOPLE THINK ALBERT IS USING STEROIDS?, BECAUSE OF HIS GREAT HITING? SO IT TELLS ME THAT EVERY PLAYER THAT HAS A GREAT OR IS HAVING GREAT CAREER IS ON STEROIDS. I GUESS PLAYERS SHOULDNT FORCE THEM SELF OR TRY HARD TO BECOME A GOOD PITCHER OR HITTER BECAUSE THEY WILL BE SAYING THAT THE PLAYER IS USING STEROIDS.

Like I've said before, I highly doubt Albert is taking steroids. It's hilarity to see such a great hitter, like Pujols, get interogated about steroids because he crushes the ball on a daily basis. Maybe, just maybe, the guy knows how to hit the ball? Maybe, just maybe, he's actually a solid player that doesn't need a running start with 'roids. I think in the end, this oppression towards the fear that everyone in the league is taking performance enhancing drugs is going to rip the Major Leagues apart.

Whoa people...King Albert has not earned this suspicion yet. Until there is some link between him and Performance-enhancing drugs that actually carries with it some credibility, let's grant him the benefit of the doubt. He is, after all, the best hitter in baseball and has been (arguably) since his rookie year. It's not like the Bonds deal where he jumped from 20 to 40 to 70 over the course of ten years. These are dangerous waters we're treading if we open this can of worms prematurely.
