J.P. Losman won the starter's job last season during the preseason and kept it all season long. And Losman played alright, throwing for 300-yards twice and finishing the season with three of his last seven games with a quarterback rating over 100. Losman played at a very high level some weeks, which is why the Bills made him their starter. The biggest improvement for Losman was his accuracy. He completed less than 50 percent of his passes in 2005 but managed to complete 63 percent this past season. And Losman had more touchdowns (19) than interceptions (14), another step in the right direction for Losman. He moves around the pocket well and can make big-time throws on the run. His numbers would get a boost if the Bills can give him some more quality weapons at receiver.
The starter's job is all his this season, which should help his confidence. Losman isn't a guy we would count on as a starter on your team. But he has some upside. Losman is making strides and is capable of the big game. He'll be worth using on a spot start basis this season ? 3,500 yards and 20 or so total touchdowns seem likely.
