2006 NFL Capsules
  Introduction
NFC East
NFC North
NFC South
NFC West
AFC East
AFC North
AFC South
AFC West
Overview

Note: The ratings and rankings on this page are influenced by the Football Outsiders' DVOA methodology. So when I say that a team was ranked a certain number vs. the pass or rush, I'm referring to that system and not simple gross yardage. FYI. Image:Nflcapsules nfcsouth.jpg

NO's running backs must be 9 at least. With three potential starters in their backfield, they must be the best there. I can't see them having that backfield in a year or so though.

New Orleans has three very injury-prone backs in my opinion.

McAllister's always been vastly overrated because he has highlight-reel skills, but the reality is that he's maybe the most inconsistent back in the game, just as likely to fool around around behind the line and lose a yard as he is to bust a long one. Plus, he's coming off a pretty serious knee injury. Bush is as yet unproven, and Bennett is a speed specialist whose only value comes on sweeps and draws. Wow, that was harsh, maybe I should have given them a 7...

McAllister is good, and I think Bush is really the 2nd best RB at USC.

You guys must be crazy. Bush is dynamo. The biggest criticism I hear is that he's no LT. Lest you forget, Bush is heavier than LT when he came in the league, played better competition, and had more highlights against Fresno State than LT had his whole TCU career. All the talk about his game transitioning into the NFL is really just heresay. No one has ever made the kind of plays Reggie Bush made with regularity the past two seasons as a RB, WR and returner. He is something special and should have won the Heismann in 2004. He will never be a 350 carry back, but so what? Does he have to lead the league in rushing to be a potent offensive weapon?

Someone grow some balls with this division! I haven't seen anyone predict this division any different than this. This is the exact same as last year except the tie breaker is switched. Wow... what a prediction. If that's how you see it, then okay... but parity rules in the NFL and I couldn't imagine this being the case again this year. Bottom line this division isn't that tough. I seriously doubt that 2 teams make the playoffs as they did last year, especially since they cross play the NFC East. I wouldn't be surprised if that one team is the Falcons, either.
