The 2005 Houston Astros finished with a record of 89-73. They scored 693 runs and belted 161 home runs to go along with a .256 batting average. The offense was powered by Morgan Ensberg, who led the team with 36 home runs and 101 RBI. Willy Taveras led the team with 172 hits for a .291 average. Willy Taveras had a great year on the basepaths with 34 stolen bases.

The team allowed 609 runs and had a team ERA of 3.52. Roy Oswalt led the team with 20 wins. Roger Clemens struck out 185 batters to lead the team. Brad Lidge was the team's best fireman, with 42 saves.
