2003 Draft Class

The 2003 NBA Draft Class will become the greatest class of all time. It will surpass the 1984 class. You may argue that 84 featured Jordan, Olajuwon, and Barkely. What about '03! We all know about LeBron James, who has the tools to becomes the newxt michael Jordan. Dwayne Wade, picked #5, may also be the NMJ. He already has a ring. Carmelo may never be the NMJ, but he can be another Pippin or Clyde Drexler. Chris Bosh is the sleeper of the draft. The quite Bosh may be more of a Tim Duncan type player because of his smooth game. Kirk Hinrich is showing flashes of being a great point guard. He is already drawing comparrisons to Jerry West.

There re plenty of role players found in the draft. Even Darko will be a player in the league. He had an immediate impact with Orlando after the trade, and he could form a formable frontcourt with Dwight Howard.Chris Kaman, Josh Howard, and Leandro Barbosa will all be major contributors to their respective teams. When we look back in 15 years at the 2003 NBA Draft Class, we will notice the greatest classs of all time.

I think the big measure will be how many championships these guys bring home. They have one already, as you mentioned. And Lebron has been in the playoffs, and Carmelo has multiple playoff appearances already. It's a really good sign. But I wonder if they'll be able to surpass the 9 rings that Olajuwan and Jordan have between themselves.

I'm tired of people throwing around "the next Michael Jordan." How about just calling James and wade "the next great NBA superstar." No one will ever touch Jordan.
