The 2000 Oklahoma Sooners football team, saw OU's return to the national spotlight. The Sooners would finish the season 13-0 with an 8-0 record, and defeat powerhouse Florida State in the National Championship game in the Orange Bowl.
This was also the season that put a young Bob Stoops on the coaching map. He had taken over the team just two years earlier, with a sub .500 record.
