The 1978 Seattle Mariners finished with a record of 56-104. They scored 614 runs and belted 97 home runs to go along with a .248 batting average. The offense was powered by Leon Roberts, who led the team with 22 home runs and 92 RBI. Craig Reynolds led the team with 160 hits for a .292 average. Julio Cruz had a great year on the basepaths with 59 stolen bases.

The team allowed 834 runs and had a team ERA of 4.72. Enrique Romo led the pitching staff with 11 wins and 10 saves. Byron McLaughlin racked up 87 strkeouts to lead the team.
