The 1891 Pittsburgh Pirates finished with a record of 55-80. They scored 679 runs and belted 29 home runs to go along with a .239 batting average. Jake Beckley, Pete Browning, Fred Carroll, and Doggie Miller were tied for the team lead in home runs with 4. The offense was powered by Jake Beckley, who led the team with 73 RBI, 162 hits. Ned Hanlon had a great year on the basepaths with 54 stolen bases.

The team allowed 744 runs and had a team ERA of 2.89. Mark Baldwin led the pitching staff with 22 wins and 197 strikeouts.
