In their second year as the Boston Red Caps, predeccesor to the Atlanta Braves franchise, the team finished the year as the National League Champions. Lead by Hall of Fame manager Harry Wright, the team finished with a record of 42-18.

Tommy Bond started, and completed 58 of the 61 games played. He ended up with a record of 40-17, 2.11 ERA. Will White pitched the other three games (2-1, 3.00).
Jim O'Rourke (1945), George Wright (1937), and Harry Wright (1953) are all in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
