1874 Boston Red Stockings

The future Atlanta Braves franchise defended their National Association Champion title (which they had won in 1872 and 1873), and again won that title in 1874. They went 52-18, under the Hall of Fame managment of Harry Wright.

Al Spalding (23) started 69 of the 71 games played (Harry Wright started the other 2 games), and completed 65 of those games, ending up with a record of 52-16 in 616.3 IP, with an ERA of 2.35 (compared with Wright's 0-2 record and 2.70 ERA).

Al Spalding (1939), Jim O'Rourke (1945), George Wright (1937), and Harry Wright (1953) are all in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
