"The Gospel" Week 9 Quarterbacks

When you look at this weeks NFL schedule you will notice that the only defenses that have a favorable home match-up against a mediocre to bad offenses are the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Oakland Raiders. Which means these top-twelve Quarterbacks should have somewhat of a field-day.Remember “The Gospel” series is not a start’em sit’em list, but more of a guide when determining which players have the highest value and those who are worthy of a roster spot in any and all cash competitions.
Tom Brady: What more can you say about Brady. They don’t have a great running game, teams know that he will throw the ball, and they still can’t stop him. The game line is at 57.5 points this week so expect a shootout in Indy and another huge performance from Brady. Projected Points: 38
Peyton Manning: Manning is the other half of that game line of 57.5 points and with a full crew including Marvin Harrison expect a shootout by Manning. Projected Points: 30
Philip Rivers: Sure, Rivers only threw 9 passes last week but he managed 3 touchdowns and a fantasy production of 23 points. Minnesota stops the run (not that they’ll stop Tomlinson) and ranks dead last in passing yards allowed per game. Rivers will have another good game. Projected Points: 23
Derek Anderson: Seattle ranks in the middle of the pack in receiving yards allowed (212) and have only given up 5 touchdown receptions the entire season. However, Derek Anderson and the Browns’ receiving corps has posted pro-bowl type numbers. With unlimited confidence expect more of the same this week at home. Projected Points: 22 points
Matt Hasselbeck: I like just about any QB against the Cleveland Browns. Coming off of a bye week if the Seahawks have not solved their running issues, Hasselbeck will once again carry the load. Projected Points: 22
Drew Brees: If Brees wasn’t at home and coming off of a season best 37 fantasy points he would never make this list. Brees may be back to last seasons form and even though Jacksonville is 5-0 on the road this season expect somewhat of a letdown and Brees to have a tremendous game. Projected Points: 21
Jeff Garcia: I picked Garcia up in the last round of my weekly cash competition. Everyone had a QB, Garcia is at home against the Cardinals, and after a 3 interception week (first int of the season) and a close loss to Jax Garcia will rebound and post good numbers. Projected Points: 20
Jay Cutler: Detroit is sort of like Cleveland; I would play any offensive skill player against them. Enough said! Projected Points: 20
Brett Favre: Favre is averaging 18 fantasy points per game and he does face a decent Kansas City defense on the road. However, Favre is playing with such confidence and ease that he could very easily fly over that number. Projected Points: 19
Carson Palmer: Buffalo has a pair of pretty good defensive backs and with the Bengals and Palmer getting worse as the season progresses, he could be in for a long day on the road. Projected Points: 17
Donovan McNabb: McNabb normally plays well against the Cowboys and this week shouldn’t be any different. Projected Points: 16
Tony Romo: In Romo’s first ever start against the Eagles he managed just 142 on less than 50% completion percentage. This time he plays in Philly and things have the potential of getting worse. Projected Points: 14
