"The Gospel" Week 5 Quarterbacks

Considering last weeks performances it’s probably a good thing for some owners that Palmer (11 points) McNabb (3 points) are on bye this week and owners are forced to use their benches or waiver wire to find a solid QB1.
Remember this entire series is not intended as start em’ sit em’ advice, but more of a guide if wanting to remain competitive in weekly cash competitions.
Using the Bruno Boys predicted QB rankings I will list the top 12 QB’s that will perform up to their predicted level and othes that will fly above their predicted rankings. However, finding twelve solid QB’s for week 5 is not an easy task.
Peyton Manning: Manning is the top point producer this week at home versus Tampa Bay. Without Addai, Manning is forced to carry the Colts on his back this week and find another week in the thirties.
Tom Brady: It’s possible that we’ll only see 3 quarters out of Brady this week, but that is all he’ll need to reach his predicted 28 points this week.
Tony Romo: If Romo was at home like Brady and Manning he’d be on the top of this list. Being on the road won’t interfere with his 26 predicted points which is good enough to make him the #3 QB this week.
Brett Favre: The most impressive thing about Favre breaking Marino’s record is he has never seemed to force the action this season. The game is easy for Favre right now so ride it out and expect another game in the neighborhood of 22 points this week.
Jon Kitna: Without a reasonable running game Kitna is forced to make plays. He’s averaging 20 points on the season and will continue that trend this week in Washington with at least twenty-two.
Eli Manning: There is no reason why Manning won’t torch the Jets defense. With Plaxico having a career season and Manning minimizing his mistakes we can count on a game with at least 20 points.
Jeff Garcia: Considering the Colts are banged up, this game could remain competitive throughout. However, if that’s the case, Garcia will have to carry these Bucs offensively. Look for a week in the 18-20 point range.
Matt Hasselbeck: Will have to do plenty of throwing on the road in Pittsburgh. Hasselbeck is coming off of consecutive games in the 20 twenties and this week will be no different.
Vince Young: Vince should find plenty of success at home against an Atlanta defense that is giving up 344 yards per game. Look for production in the range of 18 points.
Chad Pennington: There is no way that the Giants defense gets after Pennington like they did to McNabb last week. Don’t be surprised if Pennington throwas for 220 and 2 touchdowns this week. Look for a point production in the 18-20 point range.
Ben Roethlisberger: Ben didn’t totally shut me up last week. I predicted 14-16 and he ended with 19 fantasy points. This week at home is a different story and Ben will be lucky to produce his predicted 19 points. Look for a game in the 16-18 point range.
Brian Griese: Like I told you before, it’s tough finding the top 12 this week, but I think Griese will have a better outing in Green Bay. Despite throwing 3 picks last week Griese still managed 17 fantasy points. With a week under his belt and a stagnant run game expect an improved week 5 and a fantasy point production at or around 17 points.
Don’t count on it!
Drew Brees: I told you all, Brees is finished this season and it will take a career game to convince me otherwise.
Matt Schaub: Don’t count on a game in the twenties for Schaub against a tough Miami pass defense. If you draft or start him don’t say Ididn’t tell you so.
Jay Cutler: You would have to think that the Chargers defense will soon show their dominance. It’s this week or never and I believe Cutler will be the recipient of some heavy pressure.
Jason Campbell: It doesn’t matter that Campbell is playing the Detroit defense. I’m still not a believer and I definitely don’t expect 17 points this week.
David Garrard: Garrard may struggle in K.C. this week. Look for production in the 10-12 point range.
