"The Gospel" Week 3 Quarterbacks

This week in ”The Gospel” series.
In my opinion, if a player hasn’t done anything by the 3rd week of the season and if that same player is not in a new situation, then we can all figure that he will not do too much for the remainder of the season.
Using the Bruno Boys player ranking system I am able to elaborate and analyze these situations as I see them. Some have worked, others ideas have failed, but a surprise is a surprise and there is not much a person can do about that.
Last week I was a little off, I predicted Peyton Manning to live up to his predicted 24 points (16), McNabb to rebound after his week 1 debacle (10 points), and Matt Schaub to suffer while facing the Carolina defense. On the other hand, I did find some success with David Garrard hitting my exact prediction of points (18), Vince Young to give the Colts headaches by scoring in the high teens (18), and Drew Brees predicted to produce 14 points. Let’s take a look at how week three will manifest for these particular Quarterbacks.
Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Carson Palmer. It’s pretty clear that these three will remain on the top of the list for the most part of the season. However, they are so inconsistent that it’s ridiculous. Anytime a group of players scores anywhere between 20-50 points each week it has to be frustrating. Yeah right!
Tony Romo: Plays on the road in Chicago, but don’t expect his prodution to change as he still has his primary weapons surrounding him. Predicted points 16, but look for over 20 once again.
Vince Young: Vince is going to force all non-believers, (including myself) to convert. This week he is projected to score 16 points against the Saints. However, I see Young rushing for a touchdown and scoring in the low twenties this week.
Jake Delhomme: I definitely understand how Delhomme remains rated amongst middle of the road Quarterbacks. However, as I stated last week, “Delhomme is back to leading this franchise and playing up to his capabilities”. Expect another game in the low twenties this week against the Falcons.
Ben Roethlisberger: “Berger throws a wedge into these rankings every week because he’s largely unpredictable”. That’s what the Bruno Boys have to say about “Big Ben” and I cannot think of a more accurate statement. I don’t see Parker running wild on the Niners this week, therefore I do expect Roethlisberger to go over 14 points and finish with 20 or more this week at home.
Don’t Even Think About it!
Matt Schaub: How about this guy shutting me up last week? Ha, unlikely to happen again this week without his primary target Andre Johnson. His projected 16 points looks more like ten or eleven to me.
Marc Bulger: Bulger at the Bucs and 22 points? Not a chance this week for this struggling Rams offense. Hard to bench him, but with only 16 St. Louis points last week at home versus the 49ers has to have owners concerned. Look for Bulger in the mid-teens which may be enough to start him.
Derrick Anderson: ' I am definitely not ready to jump on this bandwagon yet, but for those of you who are, good luck. On the road and clear across the country could be a nightmare for Anderson this week. If he scores 14 points I’ll shut up, otherwise look for single digits.
Matt Leinart: I will be thoroughly surprised if Arizona can move the ball on this defense. Evem if this Ravens defense is overrated Leinart will be lucky to produce his anticipated 15 points. Look for a week of just over 10 points.
Donovan McNabb : If I had McNabb I would bench him until he showed that he’s ready to play this season. Distractions may be enough to send McNabb over the edge this week. I sure hope he does produce 21 points, but expect more like 13 this week.
