This series is entitled “The Gospel” for one reason and one reason only, it’s as accurate of information as you can get for weekly fantasy ratings.
I am using the weekly rankings offered by the analysts over at Bruno Boys where they rate and predict the fantasy production from each skill position during each week of the NFL season. It’s an excellent series and one that all fantasy football enthusiasts will want to read on a consistent basis.
In my running back analysis I didn’t go into great detail, but what I did do is inform readers on which players will ’shine’ and which players will get shut down, shut out, and shut up.
I’ll take it a little bit further this time at the wide-receiver rankings and give you “The Gospel” on which players to count on and which players to steer clear of for week one.
If you’re playing in any weekly cash leagues this series will surely give you the edge that you’ll need to compete.
Value Bets!
1. Steve Smith : It’s hard to argue that Smith will torch this St. Louis defense, therefore, the Bruno Boys have Smith scoring 21 points this week. Rest assured they are close, real close, but I see over 21 this week.
2. Terrell Owens : They’re correct! The biggest story is Owens non-story but look for that to change this week. Eighteen points is their prediction, but he’ll fly over 18 like Wayne did on Thursday night.
5. Larry Fitzgerald : Pretty high ranking for Fitzgerald, but it is Monday Night and this improved Cardianals offense should go berzerk. Sixteen is high when they have other threats, but not out of range for a player of his caliber: Dead on Bruno Boys!
8. Chad Johnson : Pretty accurate here, but Johnson could get even more than the 15 that they have predicted. Big players in big games!
Don’t count on it!
6. Torry Holt: Sixteen is too many because this is Isaac Bruce’s “MVP season” and SJax will handle a lot of the load. Not to mention, Holt is less than 100% healthy. Under 16 points.
7. Roy Williams : Hey Rookie welcome to the NFL. I’m talking about Calvin Johnson. There is no way Roy will live up to 16 points when Johnson is destined to steal the show.
Don’t forget about!
21. Reggie Brown : Donovan will be on again and Brown will score more than the 11 points he predicted to score.
28. Santonio Holmes: Look for better than 8 points out of Holmes this week. My guess is an easy 13-16 points.
31. Jerry Porter : Far from only 7 points this week. Porter remains a physical speciman and the #1 option in Oakland against a suspect Lions defense. Look for double-digits.
