"A Story About O.J."

15
Vote

by Brendan.Canney

O.J. Simpson is back in the news after being arrested by Las Vegas authorities on suspicion of being involved in an armed robbery in which they stole his own sport memorabilia. Simpson will be charged with 6 felonies that include robbery with a deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapon.

Simpson however claims that he didn't rob anybody and was only retrieving stolen property. "You've got to understand, this ain't somebody going to steal somebody's drugs or something like that. This is somebody going to get his private belongings back. That's it. That's not robbery." Sounds like he's got a hell of case there...

Simpson has a long list of run-ins with the law that include, paying a $130 fine for speeding through a Florida manatee zone, allegedly abusing his daughter, and pirating DirectTV broadcast signals. Simpson's reason for not calling the police in this situation was, "The police, since my trouble, have not worked out for me. It just becomes a story about O.J." It's a good thing though that he didn't call the cops because this whole situation hasn't turned into "a story about O.J."

If convicted, Simpson would face up to 30 years in state prison on each robbery count alone.

Cochrane wasn't the man. He just happened to run up against very incompetent prosecutors. How did O.J. never take the stand?

Ever hear the expression "dumb like a fox?" That's OJ. He may have arranged and paid for someone to take out his ex wife, but he didn't do it himself.

...and he had the REAL killers wear his Bruno Malis and dripped his blood at the scene. Oh and O.J. cut his head on the air conditioner just to make it look like he was trying to run away from the scene and got "scratched" by the mirror he broke when he "heard the news of his ex-wife's death" to add the sense of stupid fox realism?

Even though there was NEVER ANY OTHER POSSIBLE/LOGICAL SUSPECTS (other than maybe his first son, since Jr's DNA would be the NEXT closest to Orenthal's), I always liked how he said that drug dealers probably did it... because you know... drug dealers always do walk-by stabbings when they're cruising through Brentwood.

If only C.S.I. was around when the jurors heard the DNA evidence...

By the way, the whole glove shit was preposterous. Just because the gloves didn't fit doesn't mean the killer even used them. They were dupes. The REAL gloves were tossed with the never-found murder weapon.

Maybe he paid Mark Fuhrmann to kill her, then botch the crime scene with the typical LA Police protocol and some blatent racism to one of the whitest black men in America?

Maybe Kato did it! He certainly killed his acting career just as sloppily...

OJ has a book coming out called If I Did Do an Armed Robbery in Vegas... Everybody should give the guy a break... He was just trying to "borrow" some stuff to sell at one of the 35,674,456,544 pawn shops in Vegas to help pay back the Goldman family the money he owes them for not killing their son!

It was his ex-wife's house. What if he caught his finger in his car door when leaving? What if she creased him upside the head with a frying pan? Blood dry for an hour or ten years has the same characteristics, so its a totally insignificant point his blood was at the scene. As are the shoes. Its freakin' Brentwood. The mailman wears Mali's. And as an FYI, his ex was a ho. She owed money to drug dealers, jewelry shops, clothing stores, etc, etc, etc. Not alot of tears were shed when she bought it, except by the people she owed money to.

I agree with you that she was a shady character herself... her and Ronnie were on their way to share a bag of blow when they got sliced. But drug dealers don't slice people (at least not on the sidewalk) and only really, really motivated people (like angered, jealous, violent, possessive ex-husbands) take such measures (how many times was SHE stabbed compared to him?).

On top of that, anyone looking to off Nicole over a bad drug deal wouldn't have a reason to slaughter Ronnie... and again, 99.8% of "drug dealers" who kill use guns, they don't get themselves dirty.

If he wasn't the killer the civil suit would have never come down the way it did and OJ's lawyers would have had it overturned in a heartbeat.

And no, you're wrong... as a former phlebotomy student, I can easily tell the difference between day old (let alone hours-old) blood and ten year old dried blood... I think investigators can too. Never mind that HER blood was also on his socks... Oh yeah, the socks that the prosecution forgot about! I bet the socks fit, didn't they?

Oh yeah, what about the mystical DNA evidence? WAy way way back in 1994 most people (the jurors) didn't understand what DNA evidence even was...

Why would OJ go on the low speed chase and threaten to kill himself if he was so innocent?

We can hypothesize and speculate all we want - But I'm the advocate to the devil's advocate, and I can't even argue for O.J. - [http://www.k...e.com/oj.htm It's all out there, clear as day)

Ok, I thought of a few scenarios in which I could argue for OJ.
  1. A wizard did it
  2. tremendous wind sheer picked up a knife and some shoes, blew it down bundy drive
  3. Aliens thought they were cows in a pasture
  4. they stepped between two invisible fencers
  5. Spontaneous decapitation
  6. The ghost of Zorro's butler did it!
  7. OJ's first son (who hated his slutty stepmother, Nicole)
  8. The guys who do the tours of celebrity murders had too big a gap in their route after Sam Cooke's hotel and Freddy Prinze's apartment on the way to Marilyn Monroe's place of death (around the corner from Nicole's)
  9. RonRon killed Nicole then slit his own throat with a knife made of ice that melted before police arrived
  10. Ron's lover did it when he saw RonRon with a woman
  11. Ron's Dad needed money (or more of it anyway)
  12. It was all a well orchestrated Hollywood ruse made to look like a grisly murder, botched investgation and completely incompetent prosecution and we were all Punk'd bigtime!
  13. he wasn't robbing them, he was just taking what was his

If he did it, he'd be doing life in San Quentin. Whether or not you believe in circumstantial evidence, lack of credible witnesses, incompetent prosecutors, the only people who mattered were the twelve people in the jury box.

If he lived in any other country, he would have been tried again (competently, the second time) and found guilty. But in this country he still lost the civil suit (which could NEVER happen if he was innocent). Which means - "OK, we know you did it but we can't lock you up, we can only take your taxable assets until you die or until you do something else stupid (like armed robbery), because YOU ARE stupid and kharma is a total bitch and you'll get yours one way or another"

His lawyers beat the system; that doesn't mean he didn't do it...

Oh, and just because you liked him as a player doesn't make him a non-scumbag either... he was arrested HOW MANY times for domestic abuse???

And an innocent person would have sued the LA police department afterwards, would have not looked so RELIEVED when the jury deliberated and an innocent person would have DEFINITELY taken the stand in his own defense.

And would have never, ever, ever, lost the Goldman's civil suit.

You can get out of a criminal trial on the least shred of doubt (like gloves that may/may not have been used as gloves and/or may/may not have shrunk and whether they fit or not). You just have to convince 12 people that the shred of doubt outweighs the preponderance of evidence (like DNA, a bloody sock, shoes that he was video taped wearing matching the scene, cuts on his face, his DNA on the air conditioner and under her fingernails, Oh and his total lack of a reasonable alibi and then the fleeing when charged)

You can't lose a civil suit if there is a shred of doubt.

The prosecutors should have never charged him until he cracked, they KNEW they had the case closed despite the botching of the scene and they proceeded without a murder weapon.

And if you want to get technical, I hardly think the 12 people chosen as jurors were a group of OJ's "peers" on any level... he was a millionaire with a college education, a mild acting resume and a Hall of Fame football career.
